Ficus kerkhovenii with Jambu Fruit Dove at the Brunei Biodiversity Project, Kiudang,  Ulu Tutong, Brunei.  The leaves of this common strangling fig are distinctive because the basal veins on the leaf are weak or absent. Photo by Jungle Dave.

Ficus kerkhovenii at the Brunei Biodiversity Project, Kiudang, Brunei. Note that the crop of the Jambu Fruit Dove is so full of figs that it cannot eat any more. Unlike green pigeons which have elastic gizzards full of stones which grind up fig seeds, fruit doves defecate fig seeds intact and are therefore very important dispersers of strangling figs.
