According to John Beaman’s (2004) list of Kinabalu plants Ficus uniglandulosa is the second most common Kinabalu fig based on herbarium collections after Ficus oleifolia.

Ficus uniglandulosa can be recognised from the smooth glossy upper surface of the leaves, the raised mid-vein and the single gland (not twin glands) on one side of the base of the basal veins below.
