Ficus pisocarpa growing next to the river near the SRK (Govt. Primary School) at Kg. Babagon, Penampang, Sabah. The fig fruit are unripe. When ripe the bracts covering the ostiole open up allowing a clear passageway to the pregnant fig wasps which exit the fig to find another Ficus pisocarpa nearby to pollinate.
SRK Kg Babagon, 100 meters on the left hand side of the Kota Kinabalu to Tambunan Road that crosses the Crocker Range-30 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu. The Ficus pisocarpa illustrated above is growing on the edge of this padang next to the river.
