According to Beaman’s (2004) list Ficus rubrocuspidata is the 12 most common fig in herbarium collections from Kinabalu.

Ficus rubrocuspidata. Note the small roots growing from the floppy branch. These roots may be used for climbing around trees or over rocks in wet forest. Such roots are supposed to be a distinguishing feature of  a closely related fig species endemic to the mountains of northern Borneo, Ficus leptocalama.
