Ficus religiosa is not native to Borneo but is sometimes planted next to Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist temples. The example in this article is in the courtyard of the Hindu Temple at Bukit Padang a suburb of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah.

This Ficus religiosa was fruiting and the figs were being eaten by Orange-bellied Flowerpeckers and Yellow-vented Bulbuls when we visited.
