Ficus pumila is native to Hong Kong

Ficus pumila figs growing at the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden,  Hong Kong. These fig fruits are at the wasp emergent stage. When fully ripe the fig fruit are dark purple.

Illustration above courtesy of Hong Kong Herbarium. As detailed in Dennis Hill’s excellent book (see below)  Ficus pumila is one of around  27 figs native to Hong Kong.

According to Corlett (2006) Ficus in urban Hong Kong, South China  the only visitors to the ripe figs of F. pumila  are  fruit bats Cynopterus sphinx although no doubt  Masked Palm Civets and macaques also disperse the seeds.
