The photograph above produces a weird optical illusion. Sometimes when you look at it the midrib seems to be raised  above the level of the leaf blade and sometimes when you look at it again the midrib seems to be sunken below the leaf blade. The photo is of the back of the leaf and the midrib is in fact distinctly raised (prominent) above the level of the leaf blade.
