Ficus treubii (male): The chameleon fig

The flesh of ripe male Ficus treubii figs turns pinkish purple when cut open and exposed to the air.  Locals call this the  “Chameleon Fig”  as a result. Photos by Shavez Cheema and Chun Xing WONG of 1Stop Borneo Wildlife

The reason is unknown but see Ficus treubii:  Are male figs toxic to animals ?
