There are an estimated 2,000+ species of Orthoptera (grasshoppers, locusts, katydids, leaf hoppers, crickets and mole crickets) in Borneo found everywhere from the floor of primary forest to rice fields. Along with the cicadas they are Borneo’s noisiest insects.
