Ficus cucurbitina and Bornean Striped Palm Civets at Deramakot

A family of Bornean-striped Palm Civets feeding on ripe Ficus cucurbitina figs at Deramakot in early July 2020.

Believed to be civet dung found under the fruiting fig tree. Palm Civets normally place their dung on a prominent path, branch  or bare ground. Most probably this was placed by an Island Palm Civet Paradoxurus philippinensis which deposit their dung on paths or roads. Photo by Chung Xing Wong.
