Ficus benjamina: Urban ornamental at Tawau

Photos of an ornamental Ficus benjamina  growing along Jalan Chong Thien Vun in Tawau town, East Sabah. The fig fruits are obviously fertile and producing both fig wasps and seeds. These figs provide much food for local birds. These individual fig plants probably originated from a nursery either in Singapore or Taiwan.

Ficus benjamina also grows wild in Borneo as a large forest strangling fig.
