This photo is of a Ficus cucurbitina strangling fig first planted as a sapling at the Sabah Ficus Germplasm Centre (BORA) at Tabin in Sabah.
This young fig tree was collected as a sapling from a local oil palm when it was estimated to be 2 years old. It has not yet fruited at an estimated age of 9 years.

This Ficus cucurbitina fig tree eventually fruited in January 2024 when it was an estimated 11 years old.
