Ficus xylophylla growing in hutan kerangas sandy soil forest at Bukit Tangkiling, Rungan Sari, Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan.
The large town of Palangkaraya is surrounded by very large areas of kerangas and peat swamp forest including Sebangau and Rugan Sari which host one of the largest populations of orangutans left in Borneo.
