Ficus superba, Sinkawang beach, West Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo

Small rocky islands  in the South China Sea are the preferred habitat of  a globally rare fig Ficus superba  which has recently been discovered growing on the coasts of both West and SE Borneo for the first time.

As Sinkawang beach in West Kalimantan fronts faces the South China Sea the presence of Ficus superba is hardly surprising.

Thanks to Ripin for photos and information.
