Ficus albipila growing in an old rubber garden at Jaro , Tabalong district at the northern end of the Meratus Mountain range in south Kalimantan.
The Meratus Mountains are a 200km long outcrop of limestone karst in one of the driest areas of Borneo with a distinctively different flora and fauna.
Because of the difficulties of exploring forested mountains formed of sharp limestone rocks, both botanically and zoologically, the Meratus Mountains are largely unexplored.
