Ficus disticha from Kg Kesiladan, Ranau, Sabah.

Kampung  Kesiladan is  situated on the road to the Mamut copper mine from Ranau town, on the southern slopes of Mt Kinabalu.

The Mamut copper mine has ceased production and currently comprises a toxic lake of green water, with proposals to develop the area as a Geo Park tourism attraction.

The surrounding soil is ultramafic with high concentrations of poisonous nickel.

Consequently  this soil is host to many rare endemic plants often with green sap containing nickle.

The stunted forest growing on ultramafic soils surrounding the toxic lake is known as Bukit Hampuan.
