Ficus allutacea: Female liana, Landak, W. Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo

Ficus allutacea liana fruiting at Landak in West Kalimantan.

Note the small waxy plates covering the tessellate “tiles”  on the undersurface of the leaf in the photos of a leaf at the bottom of this article..

These waxy plates may be an indication of a new leaf and seem to be wearing off in patches.
