The giant-leaved African Fig Ficus lutea is widespread in the wild throughout most of the wetter parts of Africa and also widely grown throughout Africa as an ornamental due to the impressively large leaves.

F. lutea is classified  as a member of Section Galogalychia as are most of the African figs.

Section Galogalychia includes  Ficus lyrata  another African fig, also commonly grown as an ornamental.
