In late September 2025 this Ficus trichocarpa liana was fruiting next to the Hornbill Tower on the Sepilok Canopy Walkway at the Rain Forest Discovery Centre, Sepilok, Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, attracting the resident family of North Borneo Gibbons Hylobates funereus.
The top viewing platform of the Hornbill Tower is 30 m above ground level giving eye level views of the nearby F. trichocarpa which fruits regularly at least twice a year. Fruiting has previously been recorded in April/May and September/October.
