Ficus hemsleyana, a common small tree in the understorey of lowland forest found up to 1,500m on Kinabalu. Beaman (2004) found this fig to be the 14th most common fig collected on Kinabalu but in the Crocker Range it is uncommon. Note the auricle (or ear) on the leaf base and the tiny figs which grow in small bunches and ripen bright orange red.
