MELINOCARPA Ficus  melinocarpa Blume (1825) SECTION: SYCIDIUM

Greek: Yellow fruit

Habit: A very widespread shrub or tree which is found  from Sumatra to the Pacific Islands.  See map below. On the islands of the Pacific it is one of the most common fig trees. In Borneo,  rare or uncommon with a distribution restricted to  E. Sabah and NE Kalimantan. In Sandakan has been recorded from the grounds of Sandakan Hospital and  Bukit Bendera or Trig Hill.
