Ficus satterthwaitei growing next to the Kota Kinabalu-Tabunan Road above Kg Moyog in the Crocker Range. This fig is distinguished from Ficus fistulosa by the enlarged bracts  and ridges mainly around the ostiole but also on the body of the fig.

The leaf base is often cordate on one side (enlarged) . With Ficus fistulosa the leaf base is not cordate and with Ficus nota both sides of the leaf base are cordate.
