This is the “narrow leaf form” of Ficus inaequipetiolata that grows on the ridge behind Sandakan town. Broadleaf forms and intermediate forms are also common in the same area where they grow next to each other. This narrow leaf fig was described as a new species Ficus paramorpha by the fig expert E. J. H. Corner in 1960 but sunk into Ficus inaequipetiolata by Berg (2005). The late Dewol Sindumin shows the size.
