This unusual variety of Ficus variegata with young figs that are red (rather than green) is growing next to the toilet block at the rest stop opposite the Crocker Range Park HQ on the Kimanis to Keningau Road that crosses the Crocker Range.

Normally the young figs are green turning red as they ripen. The other individual with red immature figs grows on the access road to the nexus Resort, Kota Kinabalu.
