Two closely related figs grow in similar habitats at Lambir Hills, Ficus francisci and Ficus cereicarpa. In general F. francisci is smaller all round compared with F. cereicarpa. The main distinguishing feature is that as well as being substantially larger the sides of the fig fruits of F. cereicarpa are covered more or less with prominent curved bracts which are absent in F. francisci.
