Ficus recurva is easily confused with Ficus pendens and they are obviously clearly related.

Both species produce  more or less small hairy orange figs and have very similar  shaped elliptic-lanceolate  leaves.

With Ficus pendens  all parts of the twigs, leaves and fig are covered in a variety of hairs but NONE of these hairs are hooked (uncinate).

With Ficus recurva  some of the hairs on the twigs are always hooked.

However  hooked hairs on the fig body itself are unique to the Velcro Fig Ficus recurva var pedicellata.
