Ficus allutacea is a little known rare fig with only a few records from Borneo. The tiny are usually figs under 1 cm in diameter.
The closest relative is Ficus apiocarpa which is locally common liana in peat-swamp forest around the coast of Borneo. The figs of F. apiocarpa are normally 2 or 3 times the size of F. allutacea.,
