Ficus dubia is the only fig in Section Conosycea which has a stipe.
A stipe is an elongated extension of the fruit which acts like a fruit stalk. Ficus dubia figs are targeted at hornbill dispersal and stipe obviously makes it easier for hornbills to pick the fig from the host tree.
