Ficus subcordata: Feeding Frenzy Diary on 22 July 2021 between  7.30am – 10.30am

7.30 am.  3 gibbons active. 

Binturong became active for a while.

7.50 am Rhinoceros hornbills x 3, they left at 8.10.

8.13 Red Langurs arrived. They ate RIPE figs but very very slowly.

8.18 – 2 Helmeted Hornbills arrived. At 8.24 they left.

Rhinoceros Hornbill, Helmeted Hornbill, Gibbon, Binturong and Red Langur all feeding at the same time.

A pair of Crested Goshawks arrived attracted by all the activity.

9.01 Male Wreathed Hornbill arrives.

9.03 Flock of 12 Bushy Crested Hornbills arrive and fed 30 minutes.

9.35 Helmeted Hornbill pair arrive from a different direction but only stayed for 4 minutes.

Quiet till 10.09

Rhinoceros Hornbill male arrives

10.22 The flock of 12 Bushy Crested Hornbills return.

10.24 The pair of Helmeted Hornbills return but leave after 4 minutes.

10.30 Return to camp. The Red Langurs  which arrived at 8.13 am were still there. They were feeding on ripe Ficus subcordata figs but nibbling tiny bits and looked as if they were stoned or spaced out.
