Ficus kuchinensis was first recorded from Semengoh Arboretum near Kuching  but appears to be relatively rare even in the Kuching area.

This individual plant originated from Sematan.

Distinguished by the tiny figs with a peduncle (fruit stalk) and a prominent ostiole with a raised rim. The twigs may be densely hairy or smooth and there is possibly more than one species involved.
