This tiny fig is very similar in appearance to the TYPE collection of Ficus borneensis originally described by the botanist Kochummen in the 1998 Gardens Bulletin Singapore.
As shown in the photos below however this fig collected from a Sabah Forest Department tree plot at Gum Gum near Sandakan is also almost an exact miniature replica of Ficus crassiramea.
