Ficus stupenda flushing with new leaves on 24 July 2023.
This same individual fig which grows on a rocky cliff near Sukau on the Kinabatangan river was photographed previously on 24 December 2016.
Flushing stipules which are extra large and often brightly coloured pink or red are characteristic of some Borneo fig species but not of others.
