Ficus uncinulata ( the Velcro Fig) is a common fig of secondary forest and the forest edge throughout Borneo.
F. uncinulata is unique because the short hairs covering the figs are hooked and can cling on to passing animals and birds.
The Sabah Ficus Germplasm Centre (SFGC) at Tabin Wildlife Reserve in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo holds the largest living collection of Bornean Fig species in the world.
