Ficus cereicarpa growing in the valley next to the circular one way road at Kinabalu Park HQ, just as the road begins to climb up the hill. The very large leaves with a cordate (heart shaped) base and the silky surface of the the young leaves enable this fig to be easily recognised. The very large figs are attached to the trunk out of sight at ground level amongst the leaf litter, so most botanists fail to realize that this plant is actually an unusual fig.
