Ficus geocharis growing next to a forest path at Bukit Teraja in Brunei. Although several earth figs have large asymmetrical (uneven) leaves only F. geocharis has a small auricle (or ear) on one side of the leaf base-which makes this fig easy to distinguish. The fig fruits grow from long roots or stolons from the base of the tree.
