Ficus crassiramea grows both as a strangler but also as a stand alone tree which can reach an enormous size on the rich soil of the Kinabatangan floodplain in Sabah. In Brunei Ficus crassiramea is a common strangler both near the coast and in inland forest easily recognized from the spear shaped leaves. All photos are by Arlene Walshe taken at the Bangar town padang in Temburong, Brunei.
