ABOVE: A very large cluster of Ficus francisci figs from Kota Padawan just south of the city of Kuching in Sarawak. All photos by Astrid Cruaud and Jean-Yves Rasplus taken on 15 February 2011.

Ficus francisci is closely related to Ficus cereicarpa which has a similar growth habit but with large bracts covering the figs. However Ficus cereicarpa has not yet been found south of the Rejang River whilst Ficus francisci is present in wet forest throughout most of Borneo.
