The scat of an Island Palm Civet Paradoxurus philippinensis which had obviously arrived at night to feed on the oil palm fruit.

A male Appias  libythea butterfly resting on a Ficus microcarpa leaf. The larval  food plant is a Cleome species  (Cat’s Whiskers) which grows on waste ground. This butterfly is a local migrant which invaded Borneo from the Asian continent around 20 years ago and is now widespread in  open countryside in the lowlands.
