ABOVE: Ficus barba-jovis fig fruits growing in a fruit orchard next to the Bangar- Lawas Road near where it crosses the Sg Perdayan in Temburong, Brunei. Ficus barba-jovis is distinguished from Ficus punctata (which also produces very large figs) by fig fruits covered in soft hairs. F. barba jovis figs are eaten by primates such as macaques, gibbons and orangutans but not by humans.
