Ficus inaequipetiolata is a wispy shrub often just one single stem with few branches. This fig is often mistaken for the very common Ficus aurata which can grow into a stout bush or small tree. Another difference is that F. inaequipetiolata thrives in poor soils and is often found in the shady forest understorey whereas F. aurata prefers full sun.
