Trus Madi, (2,642m)  the second highest mountain in Borneo after Kinabalu  (4,095 m)  has been little explored botanically in comparison to Kinabalu.

The lower slopes are covered in  previously logged hill forest  now rich in figs. Very large Ficus stupenda figs trees are relatively common and tower above the surrounding forest. Unlike the  bare rocky  summit of Kinabalu the summit of Trus Madi is covered with dense shrubs including Ficus oleifolia which  is easy to find.

Trus Madi is relatively accessible and a climb is easy to arrange.
