The leaves of most stranglers (Section Conosycea)  are usually smooth and without hairs (glabrous) with the exception of (1) Ficus bracteata-always very hairy (2) Ficus consociata -usually hairy underneath  (3) Ficus drupacea -occasionally hairy, especially juvenile leaves, (4) Ficus forstenii – rarely hairy.
