Ficus forstenii: Hairy leaves at Tawau Hills Park

The undersurface of a  Ficus  forstenii juvenile leaf at Tawau Hills Park in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.

The leaves of most stranglers (Section Conosycea)  are usually smooth and without hairs (glabrous) with the exception of (1) Ficus bracteata-always very hairy (2) Ficus consociata -usually hairy underneath  (3) Ficus drupacea -occasionally hairy, especially juvenile leaves, (4) Ficus forstenii – rarely hairy.
