A young Ficus barba-jovis fig growing on the base of the trunk of a Kayu malam tree (Diospyros fusiformis) near the Sunbird cafe at the Rainforest Discovery Centre at Sepilok, Sabah.
It now clearly established that both the juvenile and adult leaves of Ficus barba-jovis are exactly similar and cannot be distinguished.
This is a clear distinction between the juvenile (bathyphyll) and adult (acrophyll) leaves of Ficus punctata which are very different and easy to distinguish
