Ficus pallescens growing next to the car park of the Rainforest Discovery Centre, Jalan Fabia, Sepilok, Sandakan, Sabah.
This rare strangler is restricted to Borneo and the Malay Peninsula and normally only occurs high in the forest canopy of a host tree.
Therefore this individual at the RDC provides a rare opportunity to get close up to this fig.
For the record, the latex of this individual is white not yellow, as has been previously recorded for Ficus pallescens.
