Collecting the legendary Ficus carrii  at Bukit Burong (bird hill)  in forest near Kinabalu Park HQ in Sabah.

The orange arrows point to a root climbing liana growing up the trunk of a dead tree  in montane forest next to the Bukit Burong Trail at Kinabalu Park HQ.

As the rotten tree is too dangerous to climb the professional tree climber from the team based at the Sandakan Herbarium free climbs a thin tree growing next to the rotten trunk and then uses a telescopic collecting pole to dislodge leaves and fruits  from the top of the liana.
